Here are some useful tips in caring for your crystal.

Cleansing

Your crystal can hold negative energies so needs to be cleansed when you first receive it, after wearing it, and whenever you use it for healing purposes. Some crystals such as Citrine & Kyanite are self cleansing whilst other crystals such as Carnelian & Clear Quartz can cleanse other crystals.

Many crystals are fragile or friable so please refer to the detailed information of each crystal in our crystal directory or to a specific crystal book.

Crystals that are not delicate or fragile can be held under running water or placed in the sea/salted water. Hold the intention that all negativity is washed away & the crystal be energized with love & light.

You can also place your crystal in moonlight for a few hours. This is preferable to sunlight which can fade some crystals & cause a fire by the sun’s rays passing through the crystal.

One of the easiest ways to purify your crystal is to use our purpose made crystal cleanser spray.

To Program Your Crystal

Think of the purpose for which you want to use the crystal. Be specific e.g. if you want to attract love or wealth into your life describe exactly what kind of love, wealth you want. Feel what having that love or wealth is like.

Hold the crystal in your hands. Visualize a white & pink light surrounding you & the crystal. Say aloud the following:

“I program this crystal for (your purpose). I dedicate this crystal to the highest good of all. May it be used in light & love.”

Place the crystal in a place where you will see, touch it frequently or carry it around with you.

It is easy to transfer the high vibration of a crystal to water and for it to be taken internally – unless your crystal is toxic (such as Azurite). Crystals such as Black Tourmaline can be placed in a mist bottle of water & sprayed into the room.

Place a cleansed nonfriable crystal into a glass bowl with spring water. (As an indirect method you can place friable or toxic crystals in a small glass jar & then into the glass bowl). Stand the bowl in sunlight for approximately 12 hours. Remove the crystal & place liquid in a glass bottle with an airtight stopper. If you wish to keep the elixir for longer than 7 days add 50% brandy or vodka as a preservative. Store in a cool dark place.

You can also add nonfriable crystals in a glass jug of drinking water or to your bathwater.
